What you need to know
Mirror is one of the few products where cutting it yourself makes an obvious difference. We cut, edge and back mirrors on the same floor as the rest of our glass, which means an odd shape or an awkward size is no harder to produce than a rectangle.
Every mirror leaves with a safety backing film, so if it is ever broken the pieces stay bonded to the sheet rather than falling. On gym and commercial work that is not optional, and on domestic work it costs very little for a lot of peace of mind.
Edges are polished flat or bevelled depending on how the mirror is mounted. Where a mirror sits in a wet environment we use a silvering specified for humidity, which is what prevents the black creep you see at the edges of cheap bathroom mirrors after a few years.

FAQ
Mirrors questions
Usually a combination of mirror adhesive and mechanical support such as a bottom rail or concealed clips. Adhesive alone is not adequate for large panels.
Yes, cutouts and notches are cut before toughening or backing. We need exact positions at the point of measurement.
Moisture reaching the silvering. Using a mirror specified for humid environments and sealing the edge properly is what prevents it.
Toughened mirror is available, but for gyms the essential requirement is safety backing film, which holds fragments in place if a panel is struck.
We can get close with antique and smoked finishes, but an exact match to an aged original is rarely achievable. We will show you samples before committing.
